EVENTS

Events in Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory offer year-round festivals and activities for the whole family in the greater Portland area. Celebrate the fall bounty as local communities provide family-fun harvest festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and haunted trails. Winter’s event calendar is full of snowboarding and skiing events at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area and Mt. Hood Skibowl. Spring events burst upon the scene with blooming colors at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. Summertime is filled with an abundance of outdoor activities, festivals, music events, and Farmers' Markets. The Clackamas County Fairgrounds & Event Center offers a variety of events throughout the year, including the Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo.

Concerts in the Park End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center

Sherwood - The Adventures of Robin Hood Clackamas Repertory Theatre

The Northwest premiere! A wild adventure about a man with a generous heart and a desire to save his country from a usurped throne and dim-witted evil King, Ludwig's Robin Hood is an upbeat, zany comedy full of charm and delightful vigilantes fighting for the rights of Sherwood Forest’s citizens. Thursday-Saturday 7:30pm; Sunday 2:30pm. Tickets available online.

Overland Tour End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center

The guided Overland Tour helps visitors walk in the footsteps of pioneers along the Oregon Trail Experience Interpretive Trail, which features replica animals and landmarks, such as Independence Rock and Laurel Hill. A tour guide will act as the wagon master, guiding visitors through a variety of hands-on activities and entertaining presentations about wagon packing, prairie wildlife, frontier camping and more. During the 1.5-hour tour, the tour guide will share fun facts about the dangers, tasks, and decisions pioneers experienced at jumping off towns, the Great Plains, forts, campsites, forks in the road, and their final destination in Oregon. Tours offered daily until 3pm, no reservation required.

Evening Harvest Walk Home Orchard Society Arboretum

Join the Home Orchard Society for an Evening Harvest Walk, an informal guided tour of the demonstration garden with the arboretum manager. The evening starts with a handful of loving crafted sweet and savory appetizers created from ripe fruits from around the orchard, non alcoholic beverages are provided. We will talk about ripeness indicators, proper harvesting technique, post-harvest handling, and all sorts of fruit growing related stuff as we leisurely stroll through the gardens tasting fruits. Attendants will go home with a sampling of ripe fruits from the orchard. $30 for the single event or $85 for the full series of 3 events 7/20, 8/24 and 9/21 for a full season of fruit!
