Early morning reveals a misty Mt Hood

WHO IS OREGON'S MT. HOOD TERRITORY

The Clackamas County Office of Tourism, representing Clackamas County as the tourism destination Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory, is dedicated to developing and promoting tourism opportunities in Clackamas County. A nine-member industry-represented Tourism Development Council, appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, guides the work. Clackamas County’s Office of Tourism focuses on enhancing visitor experiences, supporting local economies and protecting the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage. Funding for Clackamas County’s Office of Tourism initiatives comes from the County's transient lodging tax, a 6% tax charged on all overnight stays in the county, including hotels and motels, campgrounds, retreat centers, RV parks, bed & breakfasts and vacation rentals.

These tax dollars are collected under the authority of the County’s Transient Room Tax Ordinance, to be used for the promotion and development of tourism and visitor programs for Clackamas County. The amount of tax dollars available for any given period varies with the lodging occupancy rate.

Clackamas County Office of Tourism is responsible to develop and promote tourism for the County. By increasing the number of new and repeat visitors to the County, we increase the amount of money visitors spend in our area, and thus contribute to economic development and local vitality. Clackamas County Office of Tourism is overseen by the Clackamas County Tourism Development Council (CCTDC) which consists of nine members appointed by the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners. The Council oversees and directs the programs and operations of the Mt. Hood Territory staff.
