Clackamas County Office Of Tourism Grant Helps Philip Foster Farm Improve Accessibility For Visitors

Visitors of all abilities will have greater opportunities to experience one of Clackamas County’s historic destinations thanks to a $49,000 Strategic Investment Program grant awarded by the Clackamas County Office of Tourism in 2024 to Philip Foster Farm.

The grant supported improvements to pathways throughout the historic farm, creating more accessible routes for visitors who use mobility assistance and enhancing the overall visitor experience. The project reflects the Clackamas County Office of Tourism’s commitment to investing in destination improvements that expand access and welcome more visitors to explore the region’s heritage, culture and outdoor experiences.

“Expanding and investing in accessibility is an essential part of creating destinations where everyone can participate and enjoy meaningful experiences,” said Lizzie Keenan, executive director of the Clackamas County Office of Tourism. “Through our Strategic Investment Program, we are proud to support projects like Philip Foster Farm’s pathway improvements that help remove barriers and create a more inclusive visitor experience.”

Located in Eagle Creek, Oregon, Philip Foster Farm is a living history site that preserves and shares the story of Oregon’s pioneer era. The site features hands-on activities, historic structures, demonstrations, events and educational programs that connect visitors with the region’s past.
