EVENTS

Events in Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory offer year-round festivals and activities for the whole family in the greater Portland area. Winter’s event calendar is full of snowboarding and skiing events at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area and Mt. Hood Skibowl, plus holiday happenings at Christmas tree farms. Spring events burst upon the scene with blooming flowers and baby farm animals galore. Summertime is filled with an abundance of outdoor activities, festivals, music events, and Farmers' Markets. Celebrate the fall bounty as local communities provide family fun harvest festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and haunted trails. The Clackamas County Fairgrounds & Event Center offers a variety of events throughout the year, including the Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo. Funny Girl - Musical

Funny Girl is the semi-autobiographical tale of Fanny Brice’s (Melissa Gale) meteoric rise to fame and her tumultuous relationship with Nick Arnstein (Nick Serrone), a wealthy and charming gambler. From her beginnings as an awkward Brooklyn teen talking her way into show business to becoming the toast of New York and the unraveling of her personal life, Funny Girl is a striking, richly told tour de force about one of Broadway’s biggest stars. The endearing, emotional musical features a lineup of great tunes performed through Bob Merrill and Jule Styne’s unforgettable score, which includes “People,” “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” “The Music That Makes Me Dance,” and “You Are Woman, I Am Man.”

Bring a little magic to your garden with handmade fused glass art! In this fun, hands-on class, students will design and create two decorative fused glass garden stakes inspired by nature. Choose to make flowers, birds, insects, or other whimsical garden creatures using colorful glass pieces, frit, and stringers. You’ll learn the basics of glass cutting, layering, and design while creating unique pieces that reflect your personal style. Once fired in the kiln, your finished glass designs will be securely attached to a metal or glass rod, making them perfect for brightening up garden beds, planters, or outdoor spaces. No prior glass experience is needed. This class is ideal for beginners and creative makers alike.

This Women’s Ski Mountaineering Camp is an opportunity for experienced backcountry skiers and splitboarders to connect and build community while learning advanced ski touring and ski mountaineering skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Spend 4 days on Mount Hood skiing steep technical and glaciated lines and learning the skills necessary to succeed in this terrain. Skills you’ll learn: Roping up for glacier travel and pitched snow climbing Efficiently using crampons and ice axes to access steep terrain When/how to use ski crampons Performing self-arrest Steep skiing techniques This camp is designed to balance learning advanced ski touring/ski mountaineering skills, skiing inspiring lines, and forming friendships within the women-identifying backcountry ski community.

Each community's market is as unique as the towns themselves, and all showcase the impressive bounty available in Oregon. Saunter past booths highlighting local produce, prepared foods, specialty drinks and local honey. Roam aisles of brightly colored flowers, handmade products and arts and crafts. Arrive on bike, foot or by car, and bring your appetite and basket ready to fill up on fresh, local veggies and fragrant fruits.
