EVENTS

Events in Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory offer year-round festivals and activities for the whole family in the greater Portland area. Winter’s event calendar is full of snowboarding and skiing events at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area and Mt. Hood Skibowl, plus holiday happenings at Christmas tree farms. Spring events burst upon the scene with blooming flowers and baby farm animals galore. Summertime is filled with an abundance of outdoor activities, festivals, music events, and Farmers' Markets. Celebrate the fall bounty as local communities provide family fun harvest festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and haunted trails. The Clackamas County Fairgrounds & Event Center offers a variety of events throughout the year, including the Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo. Funny Girl - Musical

Funny Girl is the semi-autobiographical tale of Fanny Brice’s (Melissa Gale) meteoric rise to fame and her tumultuous relationship with Nick Arnstein (Nick Serrone), a wealthy and charming gambler. From her beginnings as an awkward Brooklyn teen talking her way into show business to becoming the toast of New York and the unraveling of her personal life, Funny Girl is a striking, richly told tour de force about one of Broadway’s biggest stars. The endearing, emotional musical features a lineup of great tunes performed through Bob Merrill and Jule Styne’s unforgettable score, which includes “People,” “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” “The Music That Makes Me Dance,” and “You Are Woman, I Am Man.”

Toolbox Gallery presents a vibrant exhibition showcasing Louisa Moutos’ pottery, paintings and rose arrangements to celebrate Spring in the city! The solo exhibition includes landscapes, still lifes, and portraits intended to cure and remind the observer of their true essence and connection to life. The exhibit will be open throughout May. Join on May 12th for a presentation and creative talk with Louisa Moutos.

Visit our list of area Farmers Markets open through out the week from April through October. The farmers markets in Mt. Hood Territory are packed with delicious local offerings, eye catching arts and foot-stomping live music. Each community's market is as unique as the towns themselves, and all showcase the impressive bounty available in Oregon. Saunter past booths highlighting local produce, prepared foods, specialty drinks and local honey. Roam aisles of brightly colored flowers, handmade products and arts and crafts. Arrive on bike, foot or by car, and bring your appetite and basket ready to fill up on fresh, local veggies and fragrant fruits.

Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical play explores the story of George Schneider, a writer navigating his recent widowhood, and Jennie Malone, a soap opera actress dealing with her recent split from a football player. Both characters face uncertainty about new relationships.

Pigment-Making Workshop
Camp Colton

This workshop will introduce you to the vibrant world of natural pigments in our ecosystem. You’ll learn how to ethically forage pigments from rocks, plants, and bones — and transform them into any type of paint or ink. You’ll also learn about pigments as a way to creatively engage with ecological issues, including climate change. On the first day, you’ll learn basic pigment-making skills. On days 2 and 3, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen those skills and learn more advanced techniques in a guided and supported environment. You'll receive creative prompts to work on during and after the workshop to stimulate your imagination and expand your creative practice. This course will include demonstrations, guided conversation, guided foraging outings, creative prompts, and time for individual and group reflection. You’ll leave with a shared palette sourced from Camp Colton's rich bioregion and the skills to continue this practice on your own.
