Events in Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory offer year-round festivals and activities for the whole family in the greater Portland area. Winter’s event calendar is full of snowboarding and skiing events at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area and Mt. Hood Skibowl, plus holiday happenings at Christmas tree farms. Spring events burst upon the scene with blooming flowers and baby farm animals galore. Summertime is filled with an abundance of outdoor activities, festivals, music events, and Farmers' Markets. Celebrate the fall bounty as local communities provide family fun harvest festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and haunted trails. The Clackamas County Fairgrounds & Event Center offers a variety of events throughout the year, including the Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo. Hood Territory are packed with delicious local offerings, eye catching arts and foot-stomping live music. Each community's market is as unique as the towns themselves, and all showcase the impressive bounty available in Oregon. Saunter past booths highlighting local produce, prepared foods, specialty drinks and local honey. Roam aisles of brightly colored flowers, handmade products and arts and crafts. Arrive on bike, foot or by car, and bring your appetite and basket ready to fill up on fresh, local veggies and fragrant fruits.

Part arts festival, part outdoor science lab, this one-of-a-kind event invites curious people of all ages to explore mushrooms (and all fungi) through hands-on workshops, wild food, natural dyes, citizen science, immersive art, live music, games, growing demonstrations, and nighttime nature walks. No mushroom knowledge required—just bring your curiosity. Day passes begin at $25, children 12 and under attend free, and free childcare is available during workshop sessions.

Discover how she blends history, memoir, and fiction to bring the Pacific Northwest landscape to life. Dede Montgomery is a 6th generation Oregonian, published author and Certified Industrial Hygienist and Safety and Health Professional. Dede Montgomery explores the jumbled paths of forgiveness, grief, gratitude and human connection in all of her writing. She has published five books with the press Bedazzled Ink Publishing, including her March 2024 memoir titled From First Breath to Last: A Story About Love, Womanhood, and Aging.
