Winter’s event calendar is full of snowboarding and skiing events at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area and Mt. Hood Skibowl, plus holiday happenings at Christmas tree farms. Spring events burst upon the scene with blooming flowers and baby farm animals galore. Summertime is filled with an abundance of outdoor activities, festivals, music events, and Farmers' Markets. Celebrate the fall bounty as local communities provide family fun harvest festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and haunted trails. Join Park Ranger Rhett on Sunday mornings for a meandering walk through the park to observe and identify the birds that call Tryon Creek State Natural Area their home. All ages and experience levels are welcome, loaner binoculars are available upon request. They do ask that you leave your furry friends at home for this walk. Expect to be on the trails for 1.5 to 2 hours with various routes and levels of strenuousness, this time can vary based on bird activity. Participants are free to leave the walk early if needed. No registration is required.

Join local author and science illustrator Audrey Sauble to learn about nature journaling at Tryon Creek. This class will introduce a variety of tools and techniques, and participants will learn to record their nature observations using both art and text. Basic art supplies will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own sketchbook and materials. No artistic experience is required. When weather permits, part of the class may be held outside.
