This artshow, featuring a new body of work by UK-based artist LittleSwimminMachine (aka Francesca Loi), was originally inspired by the artist's fascination with the concept of Pareidolia: the human tendency to perceive faces in nature's random patterns (even when none actually exist). Such a fascination led her to an exploration of the anthropomorphic - the attribution of human form and character to non-human entities - with the ultimate goal of blurring the boundary between reality and imagination. Loi has once again chosen to work with multiple materials, blending diverse textures, styles, and human features as a means of merging the "typical" with the strange. In doing this, she hopes to have conjured up stirrings of unease. The show debuts on November 8 with an opening reception and runs through November 29 at the Imperfecta Gallery.

Jump into the holiday festivities this year with a fun evening painting ornaments with peers. Each guest will receive two round wooden ornaments to design and decorate. You can follow along step by step with the instructor or let your imagination run wild and paint your own unique designs!
