With a mix of quick wit, grounded characters, and unexpected turns, Jessica and Chris create scenes that feel both wildly funny and surprisingly human. Broad Selection (Katie Nguyen, Betse Green, Lisa Brousseau, Janet Scanlon, Whitney Johnson, Adrienne Flagg, Kerry Leek, Mariah Muñoz), a powerhouse of some of Portland’s most experienced improv performers and teachers. The troupe formed at the Brody Theater in 2003 (as Girls! Girls! Girls!), and they were featured artists at the 2017 and 2019 Stumptown Improv Festivals. The work of Broad Selection always centers around sharing true personal stories. Their current format builds off a rhythmic presentation of stories that inspire improvised tales that are fun, witty, and often quite moving.

Bridge City Improv: Lovely Bruise & The Mondays
Bridge City Improv

Time: 9pm

Address: 1924 SE Monroe St., Milwaukie, OR 97222

Lauren Russell is a Curious Comedy mainstage performer and one of the current hosts of its Friday Night Fights. Bryan Fernando is an internationally touring performer/teacher. Together they form the duo Lovely Bruise: they leap, bound, laugh, banter, limbo, beguile, levitate, bounce, linger, backtrack, love, befriend, learn, befuddle, lunge, backflip, loiter, bamboozle, and lift back the layers behind reality. So LOCK IN and BUCKLE UP. The Mondays are an emsemble-based, character focused, long form improv group you have seen throughout the metro area. Watch them weave their magic at Bridge City Improv this night! Improvisation is collaborative, unscripted theater where actors invent stories, characters, and dialogue in real-time. Instead of relying on a written script, the performers build scenes spontaneously based on suggestions provided by the audience.
