Stay: Molalla

If you're the type of traveler who prefers unique lodging options over big brands brands, then you'll want to see everything Molalla has to offer. From farm stays to bed and breakfasts, you're going to love what you see.

1. Drizzlewood Farm

There's something special about waking up on a misty morning overlooking a sprawling field dotted with massive oaks. That's the scene at Drizzlewood Farm outside Molalla. This charming farm stay is located on 100 acres comprised of oak savannah, forest and wetlands.

You'll have a fully detached guest house all to yourself where you're free to send as much, or as little, time learning about the farm as you want. Get to know the farmers and hear about their sustainable farming techniques or head out to explore the area. Either way, the time you spend here will certainly be special.

2. MoonRidge Farms

MoonRidge Farms is another farm stay in the area that combines their passion for good, sustainably grown food and a love of the land with a quaint farm stay experience that allows you to learn as much as you could ever hope to know about sustainable farming. You'll stay in a renovated farmhouse originally built in 1901. Located on 40 acres, the home is nestled amidst old growth forests, walking trails, a small stream and open meadows, not to mention the field of blueberries, orchards and garden areas. This truly is the definition of an escape from the daily grind.

3. The Prairie House Inn

The Prairie House Inn is located just moments from downtown Molalla and its shopping and dining opportunities. The home itself was built in 1900 and has been lovingly restored to a six room inn with its own coffee shop on the lower level. It's a wonderful combination of historic charm and modern convenience, as you'll enjoy early 20th century style and farmhouse décor along with private baths and WIFI. The best part: You'll get a delicious, and complimentary, cup of Joe from Cowboy Coffee every morning.

4. Vacasa Vacation Rentals

When planning your trip, be sure to also see what Vacasa vacation rentals are available; you're likely to find some wonderful options out in the countryside. The Molalla River Cottage is a small one bed and bath home located along the Molalla River. You're just feet away from one of the best kept secrets in terms of recreation opportunities in the area.

If you need something a little larger, check out the Molalla River Lodge. The three bedroom home sleeps 6 adults and is also located on the banks of the Wild and Scenic Molalla River. Better yet, it's dog friendly, so you can bring your best friend along.
