Let It Snow: Day Trip/Overnight

Day 1:

Begin your trip to the snow at Clackamas Town Center where REI can supply last-minute gear, and then head to AntFarm Bakery & Cafe in Sandy to fuel up. Nearby Sandy Historical Society Museum tells the Oregon Trail story.

Follow the Mt. Hood Scenic Byway to Timberline Lodge & Ski Area for an afternoon of shredding fresh powder, or check out their guided snowshoeing treks. Warm up with a self-guided tour of the historic WPA-era lodge and an impressively decorated hot chocolate.

Check in to Collins Lake Resort, and take your appetite down the road to local fave Glacier Public House featuring European dishes, including Wiener Schnitzel, pub food, and Northwest beers and wines.

Day 2:

Sleep late, then indulge in a black diamond massage at The Spa at the Mountain. Experience thrills tubing at Summit Ski Area after grabbing a sandwich at Wraptitude. Afterwards, immerse yourself in alpine history at nearby Mt. Hood Cultural Center & Museum.

Spend your evening at Mt. Hood Skibowl with the largest night ski area in America. Rejuvenate in their Historic Warming Hut with traditional goulash by a crackling fire. For something truly unique, dont miss Cosmic Tubing at Skibowl East, where you can race down a snow tube hill illuminated by more than 600,000 colored LED lights.

Day 3:

Kick off the day with giant house-made cinnamon rolls at High Mountain Cafe in Government Camp. Then head down the street to Mt. Hood Outfitters for a winter wonderland adventure. From snowmobile tours to sleigh rides, they offer excitement at any pace. Make an entire day of it with their popular guided moonlit snowshoe excursion.
