When some people think of an art gallery, they think of a stuffy space with a few people milling about in silent contemplation. Lake Oswego's approach is much more accessible, not to mention spacious, as all the city serves as an outdoor art exhibit.
Lake Oswego's Gallery Without Walls is a long-running program from the Arts Council Of Lake Oswego. It has grown with new additions each year, now featuring more than 80 permanent and loaned works of art. You can find them all on a free walking tour, the map of which can be found here. If you'd like to learn more about the pieces and the artists behind them, docent-lead tours are available as well.
The best part is you can take the tour at any time. Visit a few while browsing shops downtown, or experience some pieces while grabbing a bite to eat.
