Shopping local is a sure fire way to find unique gifts for those on your shopping lists. That comes even easier when local artists and artisans gather at bazars and markets to share their creations.
The annual Winter Fair at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds has also added a Holiday Market, so you can get in the spirit with more than 200,000 brilliant Christmas lights and then do some shopping and local vendors showcasing their unique treasures. The fair and market kicks off on Dec. 2 and runs until Dec. 23. Make your way to the fairgrounds from 5-10 pm.
The Arts Council of Lake Oswego's Annual Holiday Marketplace is open once again this year, offering more locally made treasures than can fit in Santa's bag. Local artists specializing in all sorts of media, from ceramics to jewelry, come together to sell their creations to discerning shoppers whose lists are filled with people who know the value of a handmade gift. The marketplace runs Nov. 15 through Dec. 23 at the ARTspace Gallery. It runs 10 am to 5 pm.
