The Story Behind Bob's Red Mill

For this Territory Tales episode, we took a deep dive into Bob Moore's life to learn the story of how his natural foods company, Bob's Red Mill, came to be and how the famous brand earned its notoriety today. From becoming a Mobile gas dealer at 25 years old, he learned all the ups and downs of owning his own business and used that knowledge to try other ventures along the way until his eventual success with Bob's Red Mill. He details his challenges and triumphs before ultimately opening and growing the Bob's Red Mill manufacturing plant in Milwaukie producing and selling whole grain products. 

What started as a small operation grew dramatically as he drove forward an entire movement in the whole foods industry. His passion for healthy foods was first inspired by his wife, Charlee, who was a true visionary in the 1960s by deciding to focus on healthier foods for her family. The Bob's Red Mill team apply this mantra to all of their items, and their genuine passion for ensuring optimal health for everyone is just as evident today as it was from the start. The vast array of whole grain and gluten free products available seems endless and has helped so many families live a healthier life.
