Fishing in Oregon: Trout, Salmon, and Bass

Mt. Hood Territory is home to 20 of Oregon’s top 50 places to fish within a 60-minute drive from Portland. Lakes, rivers and streams teem with salmon, steelhead, trout and small mouth bass. Find superb fishing in The Territory year round from boat or bank, including winter steelhead and spring Chinook. Novice and expert anglers alike can choose from a variety of outfitters, guides and resources – such as The Territory’s Fish Finder – to get geared up for and locate your intended catch.

Sign up for fly fishing lessons or a guided adventure trip on the Willamette, Sandy, Salmon, Clackamas and Molalla Rivers. Learn to drift and troll from your kayak. Join the ‘hogline’ of boats on the lower Willamette River during salmon runs. Camp at Trillium, Timothy or Frog Lakes and cast your line for days in the cold, clear alpine waters. Get your kids excited about the catch at family-friendly Rainbow Trout Farm.
