The Oregon Trail
Couples can follow the last leg of the Oregon Trail through Mt. Hood Territory. Hike the Barlow Road - which served as the overland route of the Oregon Trail into the Willamette Valley - and get a sense of what the pioneers experienced at the end of their journey. Visit the historic Philip Foster Farm where you can see, hear and feel the pioneer experience as you walk through the beautiful gardens and take a guided tour with costumed volunteers or try your hand at pioneer chores. Visit the Museum of the Oregon Territory or tour the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, which features living history interpretations and multimedia dramatizations to vividly depict the Trail pioneers' struggles and successes.
Casey Knopik promotes Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory as an amazing destination to visit and stay. When he's not road tripping with his wife and daughter, he can be found hiking, kayaking and cycling in The Territory. Oh, and he likes pie.
