Valentines Day falls on a Wednesday this year and you can get some serious brownie points from your loved one if you gift them some sweet treats from Mt. Hood Territory to celebrate. Even more brownie points if you book them a fantastic suite for the night (or several nights) to make it a holiday getaway to remember. Mt. Hood Territory businesses are on top of it with romantic options throughout the area and you can bet your sweetheart's taste buds will salivate over the choices

Fat Cupcake in Oregon City is one of my favorite sweets stops because the cupcakes are insanely amazing, the staff is so fun and helpful and the shop is so darn cute. I can't decide a favorite between the Charlie Brown, the Goody Gracious or The I just get all three. Kyra's Bake Shop in Lake Oswego is unique because it's a 100% gluten free facility and the owner is a bit of a celebrity having won Food Network's "Cupcake Wars" series a whopping four times! Plus the menu is delectable. I'm not a person who generally eats gluten free foods but I was hooked after trying several items, meeting Kyra herself and feeling right at home in the shops sparkly atmosphere. Another favorite is the Tollgate Bakery in Sandy. Anyone who's made a trip up to the mountain (or on their way back down) has stopped in to try a made-from-scratch pie, cake or pastry because their reputation for yumminess has proceeded them. Sparkly and varied colored cupcakes from Kyras Bake Shop in Lake Oswego

For candy lovers you can't go wrong picking up some chocolates for your sweetie at places like Ladybug Chocolates, Sweet Masterpiece Chocolates and Puddin' River Chocolates who all have some of the best sweets to choose from. Puddin' River recently re-opened in a new location in Canby and have a mouthwatering Valentine's Day chocolate collection to drool over. And just down the road is Ladybug Chocolates where we did a Facebook Live Video feature and got to taste some seriously decadent custom truffles while learning how they're made. All of these chocolatiers are churning out wonderfully delicious treats for the holidays and all year-round.

To up the ante in the gifting department you could consider a romantic evening away, like a night at the Mt. Hood Oregon Resort (formerly known as The Resort at the Mountain) who is keeping the spirit of romance alive all month long with their "Rediscover Romance Package". It includes a Fireside Studio with fireplace in the room, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries starting at only $129 a night and is valid the entire month of February. While you are there you should check out their spa packages or take in a meal at their Altitude Restaurant & LoungeTwo massage tables and candles for a couples massage at the Spa at Mount Hood Oregon Resort in Oregons Mount Hood Territory

If you want the trifecta, you should definitely hit Timberline Lodge & Ski Area for your overnight stay, skiing and Valentine's Dinner. This romantic multi-course meal from the award-winning Cascade Dining Room will feature incredible food, wine pairings and desserts, all while looking out the window to see the sparkling white mountain as the lights bounce off the slopes. Check out their overnight and ski packages for the combination that suits your wants best.

Whatever you end up choosing, you really can't go wrong with Valentine's Day in Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory.
