Celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, April 21 at Our Table Cooperative. While it's the same date as Easter, Our Table Cooperative farm is all about utilizing the earth for good, and to feed the souls (and stomachs) of their guests with that goodness, so honoring Earth Day is a tradition they triumph. With loads of activities for kids, live music, wood-fired pizza, tractor rides and oodles of tastings, samplings and beer and wine on tap, it's a great day for the whole family. Come early from 10am-noon and volunteer on the farm to help out the coop, or come for the festivities between noon and 4pm. Plus they'll have an Easter egg hunt too so you can pay homage to both holidays at once.
Our Table Cooperative Farm and Grocery Store is a worker and member-owned farm working cooperatively with other local farmers, small businesses, ranchers and consumers to produce and sell sustainable, organic and local food and beverages. Not to mention it sits on some of the most picturesque property in the countryside between Sherwood and Wilsonville in Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory.
All of us want to eat healthy organic (and preferably local) food, but not all of us have the time or budget to shop at a downtown higher priced grocery store. Our Table Cooperative is a gem in the country that offers the best locally sourced ingredients for your next dinner in their store. If you need something fast, grab a prepared meal made from those same ingredients to take with you. Or eat it there, taking in the beautiful surroundings. The majority is local, as 80% is sourced from Oregon and 90% is certified organic. So when you are noshing on the incredible selection of foods and beverages, you can also feel great that you and your family are eating the best food while supporting your neighbors.
Speaking of family, you should definitely take your family and friends to Our Table Cooperative Farm to enjoy their weekly Friday Happy Hours and their seasonal monthly Sunday Farm Brunches and Saturday Farm Dinners. Every Friday from 4-6pm they offer small bites from the kitchen, local beer, wine and kombucha from their taps with farm table seating by the fireplace. It is seriously addicting and the likelihood that you'll come back more than one Friday a month is high. If you are a little hungrier you should try their Sunday Farm Brunches or Saturday Farm Dinners (when offered) where they partner with one of their Producer Members to make a menu based on what that partner has in season. Each one has a new theme, so check their site to see what's coming up next.
You can shop at the grocery store, eat at the farm, or enjoy any event even if you aren't a member of the coop. However, they do have Member Days where you can get a 10% discount in the farm store all day. Check out their website to learn about becoming a member or just enjoy their endless bounty all year long as a delighted guest.
