Pedal And Slide Your Way Into Sandy

Know Now COVID-19

Businesses called out in this story have different operating hours and procedures to ensure the highest level of service, while following COVID-19 health guidelines. Please visit their sites before making plans. Several require pre-arranged appointments or reservations.

You might think of the City of Sandy as the place with a beautiful view of Mt. Hood at Jonsrud Viewpoint or a spot to grab donuts on your way up or down the mountain. But the city itself has top notch spots for family fun, with all ages in mind.

Take the Bus

Looking to bond in the outdoors, but don't have the gear to solidify your mountain biking trip? Otto's Ski and Mountain Bike is a family owned outdoor recreation shop in Sandy specializing in outdoor rental equipment for the whole family, including Trek 2019 mountain bike rentals, which always come with a helmet and on-trail repair kit. They just reopened June 5 and are open by appointment Fri-Sun in order to offer top service while following current health guidelines. Head east to the Sandy Ridge Trail System, which even offers beginner trails. If you can't haul your own bikes, you can take the Mt. Hood Express, which has storage capacity for mountain bikes.

If your kids fall on the bit younger side, boy do we have the spot for you for them to get ALL of their energy out... even any sugar-induced glee from the results of visiting both Joe's Donuts and Tollgate Bakery in Sandy.

Take your family over to Wippersnappers in Sandy for kids indoor adventure to the max!

General admission sessions lasting two hours are now open for booking through September! Play sessions must be booked ahead of time to control capacity due to COID-19 state regulations.

Wippernsnappers is owned by a local mountain family whose young daughter inspired this world of adventure. Your kids will be challenged and entertained by a myriad of structures including tunnel slides, a trampoline room, Wiggle Carts, monkey rings and web crawls. There is also a separate, fully enclosed area for kids under the age of two. Did we mention the rock bouldering? With a padded floor and easy hand holds, this is the safest place for the littles to start developing their Pacific Northwest climbing hobby. Wippersnappers didn't forget about the parents. Let your kids go wild in the clean, safe play area while you lounge nearby perusing the local beer and wine drink selection and watching the latest sports game on the multiple flat screen TVs. Plus, there's really great pizza for all!
