There's a small window of time to experience the magic of a horse-drawn sleigh ride in Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory. Every December, Mt. Hood Outfitters dresses up Belgian horses for three to four weeks of snowy sleigh rides through the historic alpine village of Government Camp. You can check out the times for a date of your choosing typically from mid December through early January. You'll love the twinkle lights all around and the view of the community Christmas Tree not to mention the lasting memories you'll create with your family or loved one.
Make it an overnight trip at one of the many lodging options near Government Camp, or better yet, make it a part of your New Year's Eve plans.
Make a reservation in the Cascade Dining Room at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area for a multi-course Alpine inspired meal complete with champagne toast, live music and dancing. And of course, fireworks! A fireplace room at the lodge would be the cherry on top for a wonderful last night of the year.
Mt. Hood Skibowl will also be putting on a fireworks show as part of their annual New Year's Eve Extravaganza event. Offering Cosmic Tubing, dance party, beer gardens and open Beerstube Bar & Starlight Cafe.
Make it a memorable December and tag your photos with #OMHT so we can share in all the fun.
