Animals. They seem to be everywhere now, and whether you’re petting an adorable miniature donkey while shopping for garden art, or practicing yoga next to an alpaca on a farm, humans seem to continuously develop a growing affinity for animals of all shapes and sizes. Here in Mt. Hood Territory we’re no different.
Miniature Donkeys:
Take the kids to Tollen Farm in Wilsonville, where they can pet and hug the Mediterranean Miniature Donkeys while the adults shop in owner Tonie Tollen's art and antiques store stocked with unique treasures for your home and garden. The 4.5 acre eco-friendly working farm also has a flock of sheep, a super cute llama and Arabian horses, plus an orchard, garden and general oasis from city life.
Alpacas:
Take a tour of award-winning Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch in Molalla while learning all about these amazing animals. Pop into their ranch store where co-owner Jennifer Cameron is always showcasing new items and pick up some 100% hypo-allergenic alpaca fiber socks, scarves or mittens while you are there. Most importantly, sign up for an alpaca yoga class on their farm for a one-of-a-kind experience you'll always remember.
Goats:
Nothing compares to the playfulness of pygmy goats. You'll find them and a bunch of other animals at Triskelee Farm in the country outside of West Linn. You won't just find goats either. You can also hang out with pigs, alpacas, ostriches and horses, just to name a few. Bring the kids for a farm experience they'll never forget, or go with friends and take the Tipsy Tour. Either way, you'll have a blast.
