Oregon City Mayor to Dedicate Jon Storm Transient Dock and The Belle of the Falls Tour Boat on May 12

Mayor also will preview summer events in Historic Oregon City
WHAT: Mayor Alice Norris will dedicate the new Jon Storm Transient Dock along with the city’s newest visitor attraction, The Belle of the Falls tour boat.  The ceremony will feature a formal dedication/ribbon cutting, in addition to boat tours and a preview of summer events in the historic city.

WHERE: Jon Storm Park – 1801 Clackamette Drive, Oregon City

From I-5: I-205 north or south, take Exit 9 (State Route 213).  Turn right onto McLoughlin Blvd. and take the first left onto Dunes Drive followed by a left onto Clackamette Drive.  The dock is on the right across from the Rivershore Hotel.

BACK-GROUND: The 320-foot Jon Storm Transient Dock provides boaters with temporary moorage, which restricts them to less than 72 hours of tie-up.  A 220-foot section of the dock is designated for recreational boaters, 40 feet are reserved for those using the sewage pump-out station and 60 feet are for use by commercial vessels.  The dock is located at Jon Storm Park, on Clackamette Drive, just to the north of the I-205 bridge.

  The Belle of the Falls tour boat offers one-hour excursions on the Willamette River from May 12 through September.  Cruises depart at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thurs.-Sun. from May 12 through June 12.  From June 16 until September 25, Thurs.-Sun. cruises will be offered at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.  Each Saturday from June-Sept., a cruise through the locks to West Linn Park will be offered.  The boat will depart at 5 p.m., stop for a salmon dinner at West Linn Park and return to Oregon City at 9 p.m.
