2008-2009 SEASON OF PLAYS
ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Lakewood Theatre Company will celebrate its 56th anniversary season with six productions beginning July 11, 2008. Season tickets for the 2008-2009 season are on sale now and prices range from $140.00 - $150.00. Performances are Thursday -Saturday at 8:00 PM, Sundays at 7:00 PM and some Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. Season tickets can be purchased at the LTC Box Office at 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Box Office hours are 9-5 weekdays and 10-4 on Saturdays. Call 503-635-3901 to charge your order by phone. Tickets may also be purchased on line beginning April 15th at http://www.lakewood-center.org

Highlights for Lakewood's 2008-09 season include the Oregon premiere of the new Ken Ludwig adventure play, The Three Musketeers and the Oregon premiere of the new Michael Allen Harrison musical, Prometheus. Single ticket prices range from $26 -30 dollars.

THE THREE MUSKETEERS

This exciting and funny new adaptation by Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) is based on the timeless story by Alexandre Dumas. In a tale of heroism, treachery and honor, d'Artagnan, a young Frenchman from Gascony, sets off for Paris to become a king's musketeer. A swashbuckling action comedy and an Oregon premiere!

PROMETHEUS THE MUSICAL

Popular Portland composer/performer Michael Allen Harrison brings his hot new musical to Lakewood for its world premiere. Co-written with David Bates, the story of Prometheus is about the legendary Greek who stole the sacred flame of the gods and gave it to man. This exciting new musical features ballads, big-band swing, children's choruses and ensemble arrangements. Zeus and the heavens ignite with this epic tale!

YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU
November 7 - December 14, 2008

At the zany Sycamore household, presided over by Grandpa Vanderhof, everyone does just what he or she pleases. The one "normal" family member is granddaughter Alice, who is in love with her boss, Tony Kirby. When Tony's stuffy parents come to visit, you can expect a few fireworks and even a police raid! BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE

A FLEA IN HER EAR

This venerable French farce with a new translation by David Ives (All In the Timing, Is He Dead?) received rave reviews with its recent Chicago debut. A young wife wonders if her husband is having an affair when she surreptitiously opens his mail and finds a strange pair of suspenders. What is her husband up to? Does he still love her? Mistaken identities, slamming doors and a hotel rendezvous are served up with frothy frenetic fun!

INTO THE WOODS

Once upon a time, a Baker and his Wife journey into the woods on a quest to lift a witch's curse.
