4th Graders from Beaverton’s Findley Elementary School are to present an Oregon Trail class exhibit at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center through June. The students produced a class project on various topics relating to the Oregon Trail with assistance from the interpretive and education staff at the Center. The project included six classes from Findley Elementary, with three of the class projects featured each month. The exhibit will feature artifacts chosen by the students and staff to coordinate with their chosen topics. The first round of displays, which will run from April 15 – May 16, will include food and cooking, wagons and navigation and casualties and treatments. The second round of displays, which will run from May 19 through June 15, will include topics such as Oregon Trail forts and entertainment on the Trail.

This project is one of the education programs offered by Clackamas Heritage Partners, a nonprofit organization that operates the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, Museum of the Oregon Territory and Stevens Crawford Heritage House. In addition, over 14,000 school children visit the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center each year for presentations, educational resources and hands-on activities.
